<p>According to an aspect of the invention, a method to lock data PLL frequency within a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) comprises:
receiving an analog waveform wherein the analog waveform contains representations of synchronization marks read from physical media;
determining a period between synchronization marks within physical media of the HDD;
determining an update rate having both a phase and frequency, wherein the update rate is based on the period between synchronization marks; and
sampling data from the analog waveform based on the update rate.</p> |
