A cosmetic composition comprising an extract of Rhododendron brachycarpum to be able to activate human fibroblast, improve skin fine wrinkles, alleviate skin damage caused by UV and irritation and have the antioxidizing and whitening effects. A cosmetic composition comprises 0.001-30.0 wt.% of an extract of Rhododendron brachycarpum as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract is prepared by a solvent extraction using an extraction solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 alcohol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform, butyl acetate and 1,3-butylene glycol, a supercritical fluid extraction or a sonication extraction. A method for make-up comprises a step of applying the cosmetic composition to a skin of human.
