METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING MANAGEMENT INFORMATION IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

The method involves transmitting a management frame by a mesh point (MP) to another MP, where the frame includes a medium access control (MAC) address of a destination MP. The management frame is received from the former MP, and a determination is made if it is the destination MP, by the latter MP. The management frame is updated if the latter MP determines it is not the destination MP. The management frame is transmitted to a third MP, where the management frame identifies the destination MP. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a mesh point (MP) in a wireless communication system, comprising a receiver (2) an integrated circuit (IC) of a mesh point.
