LIGHT GUIDE PLATE AND BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVING THE SAME

A light guide plate and a backlight assembly having the same are provided to enhance frontal brightness and manufacture a high-brightness backlight assembly without a diffusion sheet or a prism sheet by condensing incident light in the front without any diffused loss. A light guide plate(10), guiding and emitting the light provided from a light source, comprises a light-incident surface, a light-emitting surface and an opposite surface. The light-incident surface receives light from the light source. The light-emitting surface emits the guided light. The opposite surface is arranged opposite to the light-emitting surface. A plurality of optical patterns, of which density increases as they go away from the light source, are irregularly formed at the opposite surface. A condensing part is formed on the light-emitting surface in order to enhance frontal brightness by adjusting the angle of the light emitted from the light-emitting surface.
