An injection moulding machine comprises a fork-shaped base 1 having a fork head 111<SP>1</SP> and two arms 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP> and carrying a horizontally arranged injection moulding unit having a hydraulically or pneumatically driven piston 6 and a plasticizing and injection cylinder 3, and a mould clamping unit 4 positively connected to the arms 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP> and pivotable through 90 degrees so as to clamp the mould between plates 5 with the unit in line with the horizontal axis of the moulding unit, Fig. 2 (not shown), or in a position where the axis of the clamping unit 4 is at right angles to the axis of the moulding unit, Fig. 5.
