A user interface device and an embodying method thereof are provided to allow a user to search a channel for broadcasting a desired broadcasting program easily although the user does not separately confirm broadcasting program information through a display device. A communication unit(301) receives image data information displayed on a display device. A GUI(Graphic User Interface) generating unit(302) generates a GUI having the received image data information and a certain control key for controlling the display device. A display unit(303) displays the generated GUI. An input unit(304) selects a certain region of the displayed GUI. A control unit(305) generates a control signal for controlling the display device according to a position of the selected region of the GUI.
