An electric generator is provided to improve a power generation efficiency by starting the electric generator by variably changing the number of coils which are connected to a load. A rotation axis(110) is rotated at a variable speed by a mechanical energy. Rotation centers of m rotary discs(112a,112b,114a,114b,114c) are fixed in the rotation axis. Plural permanent magnets are radially arranged on the rotary disc. At least one coil fixing plate(116a-116d) is fixed between the rotary discs, and includes plural coils which are arranged to be opposite to the permanent magnets. M-2 switching circuits(118a-118c) detect an output current level from one of the coil fixing plates, and are switched, so that an output current from the other adjacent coil fixing plate is applied to a load, when the detected level is higher than an uppermost level. When the detected level is lower than a lowermost level, the switching circuit is switched, so that the output current from the adjacent coil fixing plate is disconnected from the load. |
