Reduction of the amplitude of rotor flexural vibrations

The engine has a rotor shaft (1) carrying rotor blades. The rotor shaft is associated with cavities (14, 22, 23), which are filled with a medium (21), such that unbalances of the rotor shaft are reduced during a rotating operation of the engine. The cavities are attached to a front side (7) of the rotor shaft, where the medium is a mixture of silica sand and oil. One of the cavities is positioned in ring units (4), where one of the ring units is designed as a shell. The silica has a grit size ranging between 0.05 und 0.5 millimeter.
