MULTIMEDIA EDIT/PLAY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

A system for editing/playing multimedia and an operation method thereof are provided to generate and share an information file related to the edited multimedia, thereby enabling a user to play the edited multimedia with other multimedia players. A multimedia server(12) stores a plurality of multimedia respectively having a URL(Uniform Resource Locator) address. A local client(10) generates the edited multimedia information file by receiving the URL address of a plurality of multimedia and a selected section of the multimedia from the user, and storing the information for the URL address and the selected section of each multimedia in a script form. A web bulletin board(13) registers the generated multimedia information file. The multimedia player(11) streams the multimedia by downloading the multimedia information file registered to the web bulletin board and extracting the multimedia URL address from the downloaded multimedia information file, and selects/plays the desired section according to the selected section information included in the multimedia information file. A license server authenticates a license of the DRM(Digital Rights Management)-applied multimedia.
