A filter device for removing particles from exhaust gas and comprising a filter body having a plurality of longitudinal, substantially parallel extending channels defined by porous particle retaining, but gas permeable walls, a portion of which channels has a free passageway at each end of each channel, the other portion is closed at each end of each channel, is characterized in that the closed end channels are combined in groups in each of which the channels communicate freely with each others and with an outer surface or discharge duct of the filter body through at least one conduit penetrating the walls of the closed end channels in said group. |
