A fastener (1) comprising a bush (7) and a pin (6) is used to mount an airbag on a vehicle body panel (5). The pin (6) has a head (9) with legs (10) depending therefrom, and the bush (7) has a flange (17) with a shank (18) depending therefrom. The shank (18) supports resilient pawls (19) moveable in slots (23). The legs (10) of the pin (6) are inserted into the slots (23) to a temporary connection position at which the resilient pawls (19) are free to move inward of the slots (23), and to a permanent connection position at which such movement is blocked. The bush shank (18) has a rigid axial column (26) between the slots (23). The flange (17) has a pair of spaced upright walls (21) defining a space for receiving the pin (6) and for preventing the head (9) of the pin (6) from being pressed inadvertently. |
