Gesture recognition simultation system and method

A gesture recognition simulation system (10) and method is provided. In one embodiment, a gesture recognition simulation system includes a three-dimensional display system (16) that displays a three-dimensional image of at least one simulated object having at least one functional component. A gesture recognition interface system (12) is configured to receive an input gesture associated with a sensorless input object from a user. The gesture recognition simulation system (16) further comprises a simulation application controller (14) configured to match a given input gesture with a predefined action associated with the at least one functional component. The simulation application controller (14) could invoke the three dimensional display system (16) to display a simulated action on at least a portion of the at least one simulated object associated an input gesture and a predefined action match.
