A programmable finite impulse response filter and a design method thereof are provided to minimize total hardware size by minimizing the number of accumulator blocks. According to a programmable finite impulse response filter used in a transmitter of a digital communication system, a bias adding part(501) adds an established bias value to each filter coefficient of the filter. Unit filters(500a-500f) accumulate multiplication of an input signal and the biased filter coefficients, and shifts the accumulated values according to the corresponding filter coefficients. An adder(503) adds the shifted values. A bias subtraction part(504) substrates the bias value from a signal outputted from the adding part. |
