<p>Disclosed is a method for machining a workpiece (10) comprising a first axially symmetrical area (18) and a second axially symmetrical area (20) which adjoins the first axially symmetrical area and is oriented relative thereto at a transition angle (19) that is greater than zero. An edge K is to be provided at the transition (22) from the first to the second axially symmetrical area (18, 20). The inventive method encompasses a rotary machining step in which a tool (12) comprising a first cutting edge (36) and a second cutting edge (40) that is offset relative thereto in the circumferential direction is moved forward to the areas (18, 20). The first area (18) is turned by means of the first cutting edge (36) in the transition (22) zone while the second area (20) is turned with the aid of the second cutting edge (40) in the transition (22) zone such that the edge K is formed substantially without burrs.</p> |
