An oilproof sheet material that exhibits not only a low air permeation resistance but also an excellent oilproof performance, being preferably usable as a packaging material for foods especially making use of an edible oil. There is provided an oilproof sheet material comprising a base material and, superimposed on at least one major surface thereof, 1. 5 to 20 g/m^2, in terms of solid content, of at least one coating layer containing starch and an alkyl ketene dimer and/or an alkenylsuccinic anhydride. The oilproof performance can be enhanced by adding a crosslinking agent to the coating layer. |
