发明名称 THE EYELID DETECTION AND EYELASH INTERPOLATION METHOD FOR THE PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT OF IRIS RECOGNITION
摘要 A method for detecting eyelids and interpolating eyelashes to improve an iris recognition performance is provided to detect the eyelids from an iris image precisely, detect the eyelashes in an iris image precisely, and remove the detected eyelashes from the iris image through image interpolation without decreasing the number of iris codes, thereby improving the iris recognition performance. An iris area, the eyelids, and reflected light are detected from the iris image(S20). The detected eyelids and the reflected light are moved through the interpolation(S30). Both end points of the eyelids included in the iris area are detected by using a gray level difference at an iris area edge and an eyelid search area is detected from both end points of the eyelids(S40). Candidate eyelid points are detected in the detected eyelid search area(S50). The eyelid is detected by using parabola Hough transformation considering rotation of an eye from the candidate eyelid points(S60). The eyelashes are detected from the original iris image by considering the candidate eyelid points and a focal value(S70). The detected eyelashes are moved through the interpolation by determining relation between detected eyelash pixels and iris area pixels, and determining the image interpolation and interpolation orientation(S80).
