A method for controlling carrier frequencies of UE(User Equipment) and an apparatus for implementing the same are provided to reset the carrier frequencies of the UE according to UE capability so that the UEs supporting expanded spectrum bandwidth capability can be simultaneously operated at a spectrum bandwidth of a camping cell and neighbor cell, thereby measuring inter-frequency during handover. In a method for resetting carrier frequencies of UE(User Equipment), the method comprises the following steps. The UE receives carrier frequency information corresponding UE capability from a base station(S403). According to the received carrier frequency information, a currently-set carrier frequency is reset(S405). The carrier frequency information is carrier frequency information by UE capability for camping cells.
