The optical characteristic has at least one hologram (1) with at least two channels (21,22) for holographic reconstruction of different images from different viewing directions, whereby the different channels are associated with different areas of the hologram and the area reconstructing each image when light is incident has sub-areas that do not take part in reconstruction. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of producing an optical characteristic and a data medium, especially a valuable document, with at least one optical characteristic.
