A 6-shift gear train in an automatic transmission for vehicles is provided to improve a speed shifting feeling by actuating two frictional components at respective speeds. A first planetary gear set(PG1) is a simple planetary gear set and decreases or maintains an operation power of an engine which is inputted from first or first and second paths from an input shaft. Second and third planetary gear sets(PG2,PG3) are simple planetary gear sets. Two of three operation components are directly coupled with each other to form a single composite planetary gear set having four operation components. The second and third planetary gear sets change the operation power from a third or third and fourth paths from the first planetary gear set into six speeds. Forward/backward controller selectively changes a rotation direction of the rotation power from output components of the second and third planetary gear sets.
