SAFETY MEMBER FOR SECONDARY BATTERY

A safety member is provided to suppress the movement of an electrode assembly and to prevent an internal short circuit by improving interfacial frictional force between a battery case and an electrode assembly, thereby improving safety of a battery. A safety member for a secondary battery consists of a pair of sheet-type safety members which adhere to both surfaces of an electrode assembly for a secondary battery. Each safety member includes a metal sheet(A) to be electrically connected to a positive electrode terminal, a metal sheet(B) to be electrically connected to a negative electrode terminal, and an insulating sheet(530) interposed between the two metal sheets(510,520). The lower parts of the both safety members are joined to each other. A surface treatment for improving frictional force or a frictional force-increasing member is applied onto the external surface of an outside metal sheet(A or B).
