The welding head (1) for a banding machine has a band guiding element, a welding device moving in and out of a band guiding path and designed for fusing the overlapping band ends, and a pressure unit for pressing the fused band sections against a pressure piece. The band guiding element (11) and welding device are pivotably mounted and both are directly or indirectly movably coupled to the longitudinally movable pressure unit (9) in such a way that they are movable into and out of the band guiding path depending upon the movement of the pressure unit. An independent claim is included for banding machine including a welding head. |
