A strip centering apparatus in a vertical type looper is provided to prevent the generation of a phenomenon that a strip is distorted to one side in a vertical type looper of a continuous annealing line. A strip centering apparatus in a vertical type looper comprises: first and second beds(100a,100b) spaced from each other on a bottom frame installed in a continuous annealing line; first and second rotary plates(200a,200b) which are rotatably installed on upper surfaces of the first and second beds, and which have restraint gears(210) projected from facing sides thereof; first and second steering rollers(300a,300b) installed on the bearings in a state that bearings are interposed between the steering rollers and upper surfaces of the first and second rotary plates to proceed an injected strip; an engagement rotary unit(400) which are disposed between the first and second rotary plates, and of which both side portions engage with the restraint gears such that facing corners of the first and second rotary plates get away from each other or draw close to each other; and a control part for controlling the engagement rotary unit such that a tension is applied to the other side of the strip when the strip is distorted to one side. |
