APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PARSING XML OF IPTV SERVICE

A method and an apparatus for parsing XML for IPTV service are provided to solve a problem of a related art of delaying time to provide service when an initialization operation takes a long time in an audio device or a video device. An apparatus for parsing an XML(eXtensible Markup Language ) for IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) service includes an XML parsing server(110) and a client(120). The XML parsing server(110) parses an XML document transmitted from an SD&S(Service Discovery & Selection) server before an embedded middleware is driven. The XML parsing server(110) extracts the XML information to be provided to the middleware from the parsed document. The client(120) provides the XML information stored in the XML parsing server(110) to the middleware. The XML parsing server(110) registers an event according to the storage of the XML information as a new event such that the client(120) provides the XML information corresponding to the new event to the middleware according to the detection of the registration of the new event.
