The device has a distribution case (1) provided with a visual and/or sound alarm unit controlled by a programmable control unit. A recharge has two compartments (4) respectively provided with opening and closing flaps (7). The flaps cooperate with a mechanical push button (23) positioned on one of sides of the case and with motorized selection units controlled by the control unit in a manner such that the selection units position opening units at right of the selected compartment for opening the compartment, when a patient exerts pressure on the button. An independent claim is also included for a method of distributing medicines under form of pills, a compressed tablet and hard gelatin capsule.
