A method and an apparatus for generating broadcasting contents using a video telephony are provided to match with the necessity for employing an imaging apparatus, which is directly connected with a content server of a broadcasting company, to create real-time contents. An apparatus(400) for generating broadcasting contents includes a signal processing server(410), a video editing device(420), and a transmitter(430). The signal processing server(410) processes a call to make video telephony based on a video telephone network employing an SIP protocol, an H.323 protocol, or a 3G.324M protocol. The signal processing server(410) extracts audio or video data from data transmitted from the video telephony. The video editing device(420) transforms a moving picture from the signal processing server(410) into data having a suitable format. The transmitter(430) directly transmits the resultant from the signal processing server(410) or the video editing device(420) to a broadcasting content service provider or a viewer.
