A heat pump system in the dual compression structure is provided to utilize compressors for high and low temperatures independently from each another for carrying out cooling/heating operation according to refrigerant characteristics, thereby achieving optimum operation of the compressors and local cooling/heating operation, and generating hot water during the cooling/heating operation. A heat pump system in the dual compression structure includes a refrigerant cycle part of low temperature(10) for inducing refrigerant flow of low temperature, and a refrigerant cycle part of high temperature(20) for inducing refrigerant flow of low temperature. The high and low temperature refrigerant cycle parts are formed independently from each other, and operate complementarily with each other. The high and low temperature refrigerant cycle parts are connected to a refrigerant-exclusive heat exchanger(30) for carrying out heat exchange of different two kinds of refrigerant. The heat exchanger is connected to the high and low temperature refrigerant cycle parts by a circulation line(40). The circulation line has a variable refrigerant line part(50) for circulating liquid refrigerant of high temperature generated in the high temperature refrigerant cycle part therein or controlling refrigerant flow sequence to circulate the refrigerant to the heat exchanger in the case of hot water generation.
