<p>An inter-frequency handover method and its terminal are provided to allow a mobile terminal to perform handover without sharply reducing or generating a call drop or a call mute and to perform inter-frequency handover by quickly entering a compressed mode. A base station transmits a measurement control signal for measuring inter-frequency to a mobile terminal, and the mobile terminal receives the measurement control signal via a communication unit(S202). A controller of the mobile terminal calculates a frequency threshold value for maintaining a communication state(S204). The controller calculates a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Correction) error threshold value(S206). The controller transmits a measurement reporting signal including a frequency threshold value and an error threshold value to the base station via the communication unit(S208). When a PCRC(Physical Channel Recognition Command) signal is received from the base station(S210), the controller controls the communication unit based on the PCRC signal to execute a compressed mode(S212).</p> |
