A two-stage automatic transmission apparatus is provided to reduce dimension of gear shifting unit by moving a wheel driving motor coupled to a primary gear in left and right directions. A primary shaft(11) is coupled to a shaft(8) of a decelerator(7) for decelerating revolution of a wheel driving motor. The primary shaft is integrated with a first primary gear(9) and a second primary gear(10). An end of the primary shaft supports a rod(12) for coupling the wheel driving motor to the decelerator. The other end of the primary shaft supports the wheel driving motor coupled to the rod and the decelerator and is configured to be inserted into a sleeve(13). A first secondary gear(14) and a second secondary gear(15) are configured on edges of the first primary gear and the second primary gear, respectively. A differential gear(17) is configured on a side of an outer shaft(16) of the first and second secondary gears. The first secondary gear is inserted into the first primary gear. The second secondary gear is inserted into the second primary gear.
