摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can be operated with low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes the signal line driving circuits (first signal line driving circuit and second signal line driving circuit) of different configurations corresponding to each of the case of performing multi-level display and the case of performing display for which the number of gradations is reduced. The display is performed by properly using the signal line driving circuits. Since the display is performed using the signal line driving circuit of the configuration corresponding to the number of gradations to be expressed, the display device can evade excess power consumption. Further, a decoder is used as a scanning line driving circuit and pixel rows are selected in an optional order. Thus, a part to perform the display by the first signal line driving circuit and a part to perform the display by the second signal line driving circuit can be set in one image. In such a manner, the part requiring the multi-level display and the part where the display for which the number of gradations is reduced is sufficient are selected in one image and the power consumption is effectively reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
