<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine that a substitution process by a filter program is applied to printing job data. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether data to be subjected to the substitution process, are included in the entered printing job data. Then according to the determination results, the updating of identification information for determining the application of the substitution process to the printing job data is controlled.
