<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine having SOx trap material and adopting a measure against SOx flowed out from the SOx trap material. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device has the SOx trap material 11 for trapping SOx in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine. The exhaust emission control device is provided separately from the SOx trap material with SOx trap means 26, 28, 51, 54 which have a function of trapping SOx flowing out from the SOx trap material when it is judged that a SOx effluence condition that an amount of SOx flowing out from the SOx trap material becomes larger than a predetermined amount is met. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
