PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse magnetron which prevents oscillation by the operation at a current lower than that of a rated operation point at pulse rising time and pulse falling time that becomes a problem in the pulse magnetron, and in particular, which prevents spurious wave generated in a sideband being a lower frequency than a fundamental oscillation frequency. SOLUTION: An anode 1 is formed by installing a plurality of vanes 12 radially on an inner circumference wall of a cylindrical anode shell 11, and a cathode 2 is installed at the center part, and one set of pole pieces 3 are installed at the both end parts in the axial direction of the anode shell 11 so that a magnetic field nearly parallel to the surface of the cathode 2 may be impressed in an interaction space 4 in which the tip part of the vanes 12 and the surface of the cathode 2 face each other. Grooves along the axial direction are formed on the surface of the cathode 2 and those grooves are formed corresponding to the portions facing the tip parts of the vanes 12 constituting the anode arranged at the surrounding of the cathode, and a thermion emitting substance 22 is coated in the grooves.
