PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diphenylamine derivative excellent in solubility into a solvent as well as compatibility with a binding resin, an efficient production method therefor, and also to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has excellent sensitivity and is effectively preventing the generation of black dots. SOLUTION: The diphenylamine derivative is represented by general formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>12</SP>are each H or an alkyl which may have a substituent, or the like; Z is one of 4- to 8-membered rings which connect to a benzene ring and include H, N, O, C or S atom; m1, m2, n1 and n2 are each 0 or 1; (m1+n1) is 1 or 2; and (m2+n2) is 1 or 2.
