PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition providing excellent conditioning effects and touch feeling of the hair after drying, and having transparent appearance. SOLUTION: The transparent shampoo composition contains the following components (A), (B), (C) and (D) regulated so that the mass ratios represented by (B)/[(A)+(B)] and (C)/[(A)+(B)] may be 0.15-0.50 and 0.007-0.050 respectively, and the content of the component (D) in the composition may be≥0.3 mass%: (A): an anionic surfactant; (B): an ampholytic surfactant and/or a semi-polar surfactant; (C): a cationic polymer compound providing 2 mass% aqueous solution having transparent appearance; and (D) one or more kinds of silicone compounds selected from a betaine-modified silicone, a cation-modified silicone and a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-modified silicone.
