A method and an apparatus for displaying program information and a recording medium having a recorded program are provided to provide an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) screen of various modes according to various items through a simple key input, and search event information variably by adding an information field by simply manipulating keys. An input unit(140) includes an EPG mode execution command key and a display mode change key. A display unit(130) displays an EPG screen image. A controller(140) controls to display an EPG basic mode screen image including a channel field and an event field through the display unit(130) according to user manipulation of the EPG mode execution command key, add a field of a previously designated item in response to an input signal according to the display mode change key, and display a particular value of the added field and event information corresponding to a previously selected channel.
