FIELD: rolling technique for cigarette making machines. ^ SUBSTANCE: rolling apparatus has at least one rolling member which is applied to selected contact zone of continuous band of paper material so as to deform said material as it is advanced and so that individual lengths of mouthpiece paper separated from band by means of cutting unit are imparted curved profile to facilitate wrapping thereof and application to filters and cigarette cores assembled together for joining thereof. Rolling apparatus is provided with feeding system for spraying of shock-absorbing fluid onto contact zone in order to provide for smooth sliding contacting between rolling member and continuous band and simultaneously for equalizing tension of continuous band upstream of contact zone and downstream thereof. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to reduced friction between rolling member and continuous band to eliminate the risk of material breakage. ^ 7 cl, 2 dwg |
