<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by improving charge retention characteristics of a TFT liquid-crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: A thin-film transistor is provided with a source electrode 13 having a pair of electrode branches; a drain electrode 14 whose electrode branch is arranged in parallel and oppositely to a pair of the electrode branches of the source electrode between a pair of the electrode branches of the source electrode; and a semiconductor layer 12 that is formed only in a channel region 12b, where a pair of the electrode branches of the source electrode and the electrode branch of the drain electrode are arranged in parallel and oppositely to each other, as a semiconductor layer formed in the channel region between the source electrode and the drain electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
