PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic switch capable of improving assembling characteristics by reducing the number of parts by abolishing an elastic member dedicated to retaining an electromagnetic coil 5. SOLUTION: A disc part 61 of a fixed iron core is formed by laminating a plurality of numbes of sheets of metal plates 62. Out of the plurality of number of sheets of the metal plates 62, a pressing part 62b which has been given a spring action is installed at one sheet of metal plate 62A. This metal plate 62A at which this pressing part 62b is installed is arranged closest to one end side of the electromagnetic coil 5, and the pressing part 62b presses one end face of a bobbin 9. By this, since the electromagnetic coil 5 is elastically retained between the bottom face 4b and the disc part 61 of a switch case 4 by the spring action of the pressing part 62b, the elastic member such as a disc spring used for a conventional electromagnetic switch can be abolished.
