PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stamper having fine patterns with less deformation during manufacture at a low cost. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of the stamper used for manufacturing a disk-like recording medium on the surface of which an irregular pattern is formed and to which recording and reproduction are performed by using light includes a surface working step for forming an irregular pattern on the surface of a metal plate to prepare a metal original disk 72, a monomolecular layer forming step for forming a monomolecular layer 73 on the surface of which the irregular pattern of the metal original disk 72 is formed, a metal substrate forming step for immersing the metal original disk 72 having the monomolecular layer 73 formed thereon in a plating liquid and forming the stamper 74 on the surface of which the monomolecular layer 73 is formed by plating and a peeling step for peeling the stamper from the metal original disk 72.
