PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool equipped with a workpiece conveying device which is saved in space and energy. SOLUTION: The conveying device 6 capable of transferring a workpiece W in the conveying direction is detachably attached to the machine tool 1 which has a magazine M storing a plurality of tools T, a tool changer mechanism capable of exchanging the tool T mounted to a main spindle 11 for the tool T arbitrarily selected from the magazine M, a holding device 5, 51 holding the workpiece W during being processed, and a transfer mechanism 2, 3 and 4 for moving the main spindle 11 and the workpiece W relatively. Also, a workpiece transport means 8 which can transfer the workpiece W in the conveying direction using the turning force of the main spindle 11 and the transferring force of a transfer mechanism 2, 3 and 4, is stored in the magazine M and can be detachably attached to the main spindle 11 by the tool changer mechanism.
