摘要 <p>Disclosed is a novel highly functional composite material which is excellent in mechanical performance, electrical conductivity and electromagnetic wave absorption. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a highly functional composite material. Specifically disclosed is a highly functional composite material comprising a ceramic polycrystalline body composed of a plurality of first alumina-magnesia ceramic crystals, and a nanocomposite body (1) having a structure wherein a plurality of carbon nanotubes (2) and a plurality of crystals of a second alumina-magnesia ceramic (3) are intertwined with each other. The nanocomposite body (1) is dispersed in the ceramic polycrystalline body. The total composition of the highly functional composite material containing the ceramic polycrystalline body and the nanocomposite body (1) is composed of 0.1-90 mass% of the carbon nanotubes and 99.9-10 mass% of the alumina-magnesia ceramics. The alumina-magnesia ceramics are composed of 99.8-0.5 mass% of alumina and 0.2-99.5 mass% of magnesia.</p>
