A voice input device is provided to reflect contents of user's speech on a screen for confirmation when the contents are carried out, and to confirm that a command which user's speech is intended to carry out is recognized on the device side and which is in the process of performance. The voice input device is comprised of a command storing unit (101) for storing a representative command name for a command and not less than one alternative command name in association with it, a voice acquiring unit (102) for acquiring a voice uttered by a user, a command recognizing unit (103) for recognizing the alternative command name based on the acquired voice, an executing unit (108) for executing a command corresponding to the recognized alternative command name, and a display control unit (104) for displaying the recognized alternative command name when the command corresponding to the alternative command name is carried out.
