A method for controlling caption in an optical disk player is provided to allow a user to correct a caption sync when the caption is out of sync with the picture while playing the Dvix(Digital Video Express) file by changing the caption output time immediately. A method for controlling caption in an optical disk player capable of reproducing a Dvix file including caption information, the method comprises the steps of: changing a current key input condition to a caption output time change mode when a mode key signal is applied to change caption output time(S202); discriminating whether a caption moving time is input in the caption output time change mode(S204); and changing the output time of the caption information according to the inputted caption moving time, and reproducing the Dvix file(S208,S210).
