PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable meta data such as program history information or real time broadcasting information to be visualized in a viewing state of recording, reproduction, live or the like. SOLUTION: The meta data are transmitted through a communication network 8 by means of broadcasting or IP, and received by a meta data receiving part 1 of the meta data electronic display device. The meta data receiving part 1 analyzes and stores the received meta data in a storage device 2. Also, the display object period (T) of the meta data to be displayed is set in a timer 5. As for the display object period (T), time length from the point of time going back in a predetermined period from the current point of time to the current point of time is decided for the tempraly flow of a broadcasting program, and the meta data received in the display object period (T) are acquired from the storage device, and displayed at a display part 6. The display part 6 performs internal processing for operating the scroll display of the meta data, and generates the display data, and transmits the display data to a display apparatust 7.
