PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microwave amplifier wherein a bias circuit has small loss over a wide band and which has excellent noise characteristics. SOLUTION: The microwave amplifier is provided with a field-effect transistor 1 whose gate is connected to an input terminal 2 and whose drain is connected to an output terminal 3, and the bias circuit 4 connected to a signal line connecting the input terminal 2 and output terminal 3, and the bias circuit 4 includes a 1/4-wavelength transmission line 41 having one end connected to the signal line, a 1/4-wavelength open stub 42 connected to the other end of the 1/4-wavelength transmission line 41, a resistor 43 connected to the other end of the 1/4-wavelength transmission line 41, a 1/4-wavelength transmission line 46 having one end connected to the resistor 43, and a capacitor 44 which has one end connected to the other end of the 1/4-wavelength transmission line 46 and the other end grounded.
