PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat panel display excellent in an effect of reducing a deflection amount of electron beams, as well as a glass spacer and its manufacturing method used for the same. SOLUTION: In the flat panel display with a rear-face panel having an electron source formed, and a front panel on which a phosphor emitting light by being excited by electrons emitted from the electron source is formed set in opposition through a glass spacer, crater-shaped unevennesses are provided on the surface of the glass spacer, with a surface roughness of 1μm or more and 20μm or less. Thus, a secondary electron emission coefficient can be made small, and a beam deflection amount can be reduced. By applying an etching process on the surface of a glass body after roughening it by sandblast, the crater-shaped unevennesses can be formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
