PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain a spool in a turn-inhibited state and furthermore reduce the size and weight of the device by shortening its overall length. SOLUTION: The spool valve device is provided with a turn-inhibiting mechanism 35 comprising a movable guide 36 etc. between a protuberance shaft 25 provided on one side of the spool 21 and a lid body 27A in order to inhibiting the spool 21 from being turned within a spool sliding bore 13. In this case, the movable guide 36 fitted in the lid body 27A in a turn-inhibited state is moved in the axial direction along with sliding displacement of the spool 21 and simultaneously to retain a guide bore 36B provided on inner peripheral side of the movable guide 36 in the state of being fitted on the protuberance shaft 25 of the spool 21 by a spring 37. In addition, the coming-off prevention state is retained while permitting the movable guide 36 to be relatively displaced with respect to the protuberance shaft 25 by the spring 37.
