PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a triple-function headlight unit for a vehicle capable of selectively radiating three kinds of beams, i.e., low beam, traveling beam, and special beam for high-speed travel by using a small number of light radiation devices. SOLUTION: The headlight unit for the vehicle radiates different light beams following at least first, second and third rules in which at least one of them fulfills the AFS [Adaptive Frontlighting System] function. Two different light beams are radiated by a double-function light radiation device at least in a partial manner, the third light beam is obtained by superposing the two beams, and one beam thereof is a traveling beam for fulfilling the lifted AFS function.
