PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer method, apparatus or program, making it possible to continue photographing of a digital camera, by transferring image data to an external storage device via a communication apparatus and deleting, from a storage device of the digital camera, the image data which has been transferred completely. SOLUTION: The invention concerns the image data transfer method which transfers image data stored in a removable memory to other data processing apparatus by using data communication means, including the steps of: rearranging the image data (step S205); displaying the rearranged image data in the order of rearrangement (step S206); transferring the rearranged image data to other data processing apparatus in the order of rearrangement (step S208); and deleting the transferred image data automatically, after completion of transfer of the image data transferred in the order of rearrangement in the transferring step.
