PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mizuhiki (decorative paper cords arranged in a plane like a ribbon, composed of twisted paper) with beautiful appearance, without using an adhesive. SOLUTION: The Mizuhiki 11 has a core member 21 composed of a twisted paper core 21a, etc., and a linear body 32 for shape retaining, which is made of a synthetic resin, wound around the surface of the core member 21 and retains the shape by being heated after being wound. The Mizuhiki 11 is produced in the following processes, winding the linear body 32 for shape retaining and necessary decorative linear bodies 33, 34 on the surface of the core member 21, heating them at a temperature at which the linear body 32 for shape retaining is not melted to retain the winding state of the linear body 32.
